Carnival feathers are a perfect type of feather for masks. This has been done for centuries around the world. Here are some popular types of masks:

The Columbina is a mask that is usually decorated with feathers. While it doesn’t cover the entire face, there are usually gems and ostrich plumes attached. The original idea for this mask actually came from a character in an Italian play. She did not want to cover her entire face. So they obliged with this sort of mask.
